STRIKER Declan Byrne has today completed a one-year deal with Dumbarton after leaving Albion Rovers.

The 26-year-old has a track record of scoring goals in cinch League Two, having hit the net 11 times for Rovers during season 2019/20.

He then joined Stirling Albion for the following season and scored twice, before returning to Rovers last season. He also registered two goals there during a season hit by injuries.

Declan has also turned out at senior level for Elgin City and Cowdenbeath.

Assistant manager Frank McKeown said: “Declan has proven that he knows where the goal is and we look forward to seeing him do that for us.

“He is a good age and gives us another option upfront, so we are keen to see how it goes.”

Welcome to DFC Declan! Hear from him on our club website and social media channels in due course.
