MIDFIELDER David Wilson, who was part of the Dumbarton squad which reached the 2018 Challenge Cup final, has today returned to the club on a one-year deal.
David joined us initially from Partick Thistle in the 2017 close season, and went on to play 32 games, the majority in that season’s Championship.
He scored one goal – his equaliser against Connah’s Quay Nomads which secured extra time in the Challenge Cup second round tie, later won by Sons in extra time.
David moved on to Annan Athletic at the end of the season, and has since also turned out for Stirling Albion and Albion Rovers.
Last season he played 40 games for Rovers, scoring five goals.
Manager Stevie Farrell said: “David operated under me at Stranraer, on loan from Partick, before he came to Dumbarton the first time around.
“He has made steady progress as a player since then and we feel he is a player with a lot to offer us.”
Welcome back to DFC David! Read his thoughts on returning here on the club website later today, and hear from him on our social media channels.
