We’re delighted to announce the appointment of David McGurn as our new goalkeeper coach.
David will be a well known face to Sons fans having been a thorn in our side for Greenock Morton and Raith Rovers during a lengthy playing career which saw him become one of the Rovers’ greatest ever goalkeepers, as well as serving as the club’s goalkeeper coach.
After hanging up his gloves following spells with Cowdenbeath and Falkirk, David became the Blue Brazil’s goalkeeping coach – before moving across Fife to join Kelty Hearts in the same role in 2022.
Now he’s left New Central Park for The Rock – sponsored by Marbill Coaches.
Boss Frank McKeown said: “It was vital that we moved quickly to bring in a new goalkeeper coach, and I’m delighted that David will be joining the club.
“He is someone who fits in exactly with what we are trying to build at the club, and is hugely respected in the game both for what he achieved in his playing career and as a coach. We’re all looking forward to working with him.”
