SONS goalkeeper Danny Rogers won his first international U-21 cap playing for the Republic of Ireland last night.
Danny, who is on loan to us from Aberdeen, took over from Ian Lawlor after an hour’s play, and despite Ireland losing 4-1 to Norway, the young Dumbarton ‘keeper produced a clean sheet during his time on the pitch.
Manager Ian Murray commented : “Danny has been excellent for us after a wee bit of a tough start where he was getting used to the players around him.
“He has deserved his call up to the Republic’s U-21 squad and it is good for him, Dumbarton and Aberdeen to be getting some recognition.”
