TWO first half goals secured a vital victory for Dumbarton against Brechin City at the C&G Systems Stadium this afternoon.
Brechin went ahead from Dougie Hill on 17 minutes. But an own-goal by the same player on 36 minutes and a Calum Gallagher effort two minutes saw Sons through — with neither side adding to the score sheet after the break.
The win sees Dumbarton solidify in seventh place in League One.
The men from the Rock are two points clear of Stranraer, four points ahead of Brechin and six points away from foot-of-the-table Stenhousemuir after 32 games.
Next up for Sons is a trip to take on Forfar Athletic on Saturday 13th April.
