A FUNDRAISING crowdfunder page set up to support Dumbarton FC during the Covid-19 pandemic is closing in on £15,000 – 60 per cent of its target.

The outstanding efforts of Sons fans, and those of other clubs, have ensured that just over £10,000 remains before the goal of £25,000 is reached.

Nearly 200 donors have contributed to the total in less than two weeks since the crowdfunder was launched.

These include a group who were due to attend our Legends’ Lunch in hospitality this Saturday and instead have donated what they would have spent.

In that group are David and Dougie Allan, Steven, Jason, Jim Jr and Jim Sr Drummond, Alec Darroch, Eddie Kelly, Stevie Armitage, Brian Payne and Paul McDonald. Together they chipped in £580 last night.

Former Sons striker David McNaught has also donated £100 of his winnings from a further fundraiser – a football card organised by supporter Gillie Brough.

The sincere thanks of all at DFC go to all those who have donated. We trust you will keep spreading the word of this fundraiser as we continue to work through these unprecedented times.

You can find the crowdfunding page here – please share it as widely as you can.
