CONGRATULATIONS TO DANNY

Friday 23rd September 2016

FORMER Dumbarton keeper Danny Rogers has received his first full international call-up, being named in the Republic of Ireland squad for their forthcoming double header.

Martin O’Neill’s team face World Cup 2018 qualifiers at home to Georgia on Thursday, October 6 and away to Moldova three days later.

Danny, who now plays for Falkirk, will compete with West Ham United keeper Darren Randolph, and Sheffield Wednesday’s Kieren Westwood, for the starting gloves in those games.

The double header will come only 17 months after he last played for Sons, on loan from Aberdeen. The matches will also be two years to the weekend that he saved a penalty in Dumbarton’s 0-0 draw with Hibernian at Easter Road.

He is still an Aberdeen player and is in his second season on loan to Falkirk.

From all at Dumbarton, congratulations Danny and good luck.
