DUMBARTON were well beaten by visitors Falkirk at the C & G Systems Stadium in a Betfred Cup group E match this evening.
A much-changed Dumbarton side because of suspensions and injuries took the field with Ross Forbes wearing the captain’s armband.
Falkirk seized the early initiative and opened the scoring in the 12th minute when Callumn Morrison pounced on a deflected cross and shot home.
The visitors dominated for most of the half with keeper Kevin Dabrowski making some good saves. Sons best chance came in the 25th minute when an overhead kick from Robert Jones (pictured) from a Forbes cross dropped just over the bar.
Only four minutes into the second half the ball was given away cheaply, and Morrison netted his second. In the 73rd minute Conor Sammon made it three from close range, and nine minutes later Anton Dowds smashed home when the ball broke to him.
