COACH DELIGHTED WITH WIN

Wednesday 18th March 2015

MARK Spalding praised the Dumbarton side for their win and performance against Falkirk on Tuesday after winning a place in the Stirlingshire Cup sem-final.

“I felt the full team played well against a young Falkirk team,” said the coach.

“They had a few first team players with them last night, and overall Falkirk have been performing well in the development league and currently sit fourth.”

Sons included Mitch Megginson and Jordan Kirkpatrick from the start, and Mark commented: “It was great to see Mitch scoring two excellent goals, and Jordan’s return to action from a long lay-off was pleasing. Kirky’s assist for the second goal was positive.”

Spalders also drew satisfaction that his players from the 20s squad would have gained knowledge from the game.

He said: “The whole team played well and it was a real learning experience for the development lads.

“It was also great to see a good crowd at the game and they provided a decent atmosphere for the boys to operate in.”
