CLUB UPDATE

Monday 6th April 2020

DUMBARTON FC continues to confront the tough times currently being experienced not just by ourselves, but many other businesses in all walks of life, during the current Covid-19 pandemic.

We are now in a position to confirm that we will be making use of the UK Government’s scheme to furlough players and staff.

Players and management were intimated of our intention to follow this scheme, and all had given a unanimously positive response by the end of last week.

At a board meeting on Saturday, conducted electronically, the directors and associate directors recorded their further huge appreciation of the co-operation and commitment being shown by our management staff and players.

We also wish to place on record our thanks to groundsman Alan Brown, who is working away to keep the pitch mothballed for when we are finally able to return to action.

Like the players and management, Alan has accepted a 50 per cent payment of his wages until the end of May, with the balance being deferred. This also is truly appreciated.

All at DFC are no different to any of our supporters – we are extremely anxious to get back to playing football and experiencing the highs it brings.

However, nothing comes close to the health and safety of all at the club as our top priority.

We hope that this message finds you continuing to be safe, well, happy and healthy, and we will keep you informed of further developments as and when they happen.
