DUMBARTON FC shares supporters’ disappointment at the postponement of today’s game against Clyde following an afternoon pitch inspection.
The club, its management and players were all very much looking forward to our first Saturday afternoon home fixture in eight months, and a chance to build on last week’s first point and clean sheet of the season against Forfar Athletic.
However, heavy rainfall in the local area over the weekend meant that the inspection was scheduled to see if the match could take place.
A huge downpour took place overnight, and with the help of extra resources which were drafted in, our groundsman did all he could to try to make the pitch playable.
Unfortunately it was not enough to offset the torrential overnight rain – the impact of which caused flooding elsewhere locally.
The club will refund all supporters who had paid £12 to stream today’s game. Our season ticket holders will of course get the chance to stream the game on their own basis, as they would have had today, when it is played.
We would like to thank all supporters of Dumbarton and Clyde who purchased a live stream of today’s game, and we hope you will tune in when the match is played.
We hope to have more information on a new date for the game after speaking to the SPFL this week.
In the meantime, we look forward to our home match against Airdrieonians next Saturday and will keep supporters informed when streaming of that match can be purchased.
