CLUB STATEMENT – LIVE STREAMING OF LEAGUE MATCHES

Thursday 28th July 2022

DUMBARTON FC wishes to advise supporters that we must discontinue our live matchday streaming service within the UK and Ireland for home matches in cinch League Two.

This is as part of new regulations set out by the SPFL, with Covid-19 restrictions having been relaxed, and now removed, allowing supporters to attend matches at full capacity.

Live streaming is not allowed in the UK and Ireland on a Saturday between 2.45pm and 5.15pm, and virtual season tickets are not permitted.

As the regulations apply to all SPFL clubs, it means that our away league matches will not be live streamed within the UK and Ireland either.

For those wishing to access the service from outwith the UK and Ireland, live streaming will continue as this is permitted within the regulations.

We are also looking into the possibility of using our Pixellot equipment to provide video highlights of matches once they have taken place, which will be available to all.

In-play match coverage will continue to be available, in all parts of the world, via our social media channels, and through our website before and after our matches.

The SPFL is currently considering an option for games to be sold as pay-per-view events/live streamed outwith the banned hours – for example, midweek or Sunday fixtures.

We will keep our supporters posted on the outcome of this.

Many thanks to all those who have purchased our live stream during its two years in full operation, and to all volunteers who have ensured the service has been able to operate. It has been hugely beneficial to supporters all over the world.
