AFTER an incident of reported personal abuse at our away fixture at Clyde FC, Dumbarton Football Club is reminding all supporters of our zero-tolerance policy to all forms of abuse.

The club wishes to make it clear that it does not – and never will – tolerate behaviour of this kind and condemns it entirely. This personal targeted abuse has no place in football.

All supporters should be able to attend our fixtures home and away without being subjected to unacceptable and abusive behaviour. The Club recognises its responsibility to supporters and incidents of this nature will not be tolerated.

We are actively investigating the incident, and anyone found guilty of crossing such boundaries will have action taken against them – which may include a club ban.

Football is a competitive sport and inevitably frustration will be one of the many emotions experienced by supporters, but this should never spill over into personal attacks on players, backroom staff, or other supporters.

As a community club we need the backing from you, the fans, in the stands to help us have a strong end to the season.
