All at Dumbarton Football Club would like to wish Ryan McGeever all the best as he is set to depart the club.
The 29-year-old spent the second-half of the season on loan at Clyde after a long-term injury kept him sidelined for nearly a year.
The central defender signed for the club in July 2019 and became an intergral part of the Sons backline that season, playing 33 times and scoring five goals.
He played 26 times the following season and chipped in with a further three goals before signing a two-year contract extension in 2021.
An injury suffered against Airdrie in October of that year then kept him out of action for the remainder of the season.
McGeever was appointed club captain by boss Stevie Farrell in June 2022 but failed to break into the first-team following his injury, making just eight appearances in the 2022/23 campaign which resulted in his loan to the Bully Wee.
He is now set for a new life abroad in Dubai where has taken up a teaching role and Farrell says that he leaves with his best wishes.
He said: “Ryan has been incredibly unfortunate with the injury he suffered but his attitude off the pitch has remained first class.
“He is everything you would ask a captain to be in terms of his professionalism, work rate and willingness to learn and to pass that on to others.
“We wish him all the best abroad and we hope to see him back here one day.”
