THE worst-kept secret in Dumbarton is out.
Everybody’s been talking about the prospect since he left Stranraer in November.
Now, eight months after he last wore it, the fans can look forward to seeing Christian Nade in a Sons strip again, with the striker having agreed terms.
He is the man who took only a few weeks to become a cult figure at the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium. If his first couple of games didn’t make a huge impression, the next ones did.
His first goal against Hibs was followed by only the club’s second hat-trick during its stay in the second tier, against Alloa. He was even Championship player of the month for March.
And for the Frenchman, it’s a case of ‘la meme encore, s’il vous plait’.
Same again, please.
He said: “I’m more than happy to be back.
“From what I have seen, the team has improved from last season and I am looking forward to being part of it.
“The strength and fitness of the team against Dundee United was unbelievable. You sometimes have to be strong and do the bad side of the game, and we did that very well.
“My fitness is not bad. I have been training with the team and feel I am ready to play against Morton on Saturday if everything is completed and I am selected.
“It would be nice to score another hat-trick at some point, but the most important thing is to help the team stay up. I am here to do my best for them.”
And Christian has a message for those in the ‘never go back’ camp when it comes to players returning to their former clubs.
He added: “I will be trying to show them that it is not a bad move. I’ll certainly do my best to make my second spell as successful as my first.”
