THE SPFL Championship promotion final will be contested between Alloa Athletic and Forfar Athletic following both clubs successfully negotiating their semi-final ties.

The Loons defeated Stranraer 4-1 on aggregate whilst Alloa logged a 2-1 victory against Brechin City.

The first leg of the final will be on Wednesday May 13 with Forfar having first home advantage, kick-off 7.45pm. The match is live on BBC Alba.

On Sunday 17th May, the Wasps entertain the Loons in the second instalment at 5.30pm (also live on BBC Alba).

At the other end of the spectrum, the Premiership promotion round of games kicked off on Saturday and Rangers take a 2-1 lead to Ibrox from their tussle at Dumfries against Queen of the South.

The winners will then face Hibs in the semi-final to earn the right to play the 11th placed team from the Premiership.

Meanwhile St Mirren have been relegated automatically to the Championship as a result of Motherwell’s 3-1 victory against Kilmarnock last Friday night.
