CHAIRMAN STEPS DOWN AFTER 15 YEARS

Tuesday 9th May 2017

DFC Chairman Alan Jardine steps down from his role and that as a director after 15 years service on the board of the club.

Alan confirmed the news to his board colleagues last Friday.

He said : “It is with regret that I advise I will be standing down as Chairman and director of Dumbarton Football club with immediate effect.

“This decision is based on personal family reasons.

“I have been privileged to be a director for 15 years and Chairman for 9 years during which time we have had much success on the field.

“This however has been tempered by the loss of Gordon Lennon and director Douglas Cameron and more recently we lost Gilbert Lawrie who we miss greatly.

“In addition we have lost a number of our loyal fans who are not forgotten.

“Looking forward, I wish everyone involved with the club continued success for the future and I will remain a Son in the background.

“I am sure if we all work together that success will provide for a positive future at DFC.”

Vice-Chairman Colin Hosie added, “Alan has done a fantastic job for Dumbarton FC and he will be sadly missed around the place.

“He will always be welcome at the Sons and we look forward to seeing him back very soon.”
