SONS Chairman Alan Jardine was on hand yesterday to receive a cheque from the organisers of the recent club sporting dinner.
Lawyer and former referee Willie Young proved an entertaining lead speaker at the event where he shared stories from his career.
Well known Sons fan David Carson chaired the proceedings which included a slot by Northern Ireland assistant manager Jimmy Nicholl.
The night, which was organised by David Douglas, Joe King and Alan Gadsby-Turner, also included an auction of top quality sporting memorabilia.
Chairman Jardine said : “The guys put in a tremendous amount of work to make the sure the event was a success and on behalf of the club I’m delighted to receive the substantial amount of money raised and also to thank everyone who helped in the organisation of what was a good evening’s entertainment.”
Lead organiser David Douglas added: “It was a great night and was enjoyed by everyone who attended.”
