DUMBARTON skipper Darren Barr has a Christmas message for the fans.
The season so far has been up and down in terms of results. Against Falkirk in our last home game, they couldn’t take victory away from us and Garry Fleming scored a great goal to give us the points.
We are only worrying about our own results. We have had discussions about putting things to bed that have happened in the past. Our form of late in the league has been good and we feel that the players are starting to knit together quite well.
In the second half of the season we will continue to take each game as it comes and build on the positive stuff we have done in the first half of the campaign. Before going to Ayr yesterday, we were hopeful we could take things forward into that game.
The fans have really stuck with us this season. We’ve tried to give them good times and we hope we can give them more good times in the second half of the season. We need more consistency, especially away from home, and of course, our goal is to ensure that we are in the Championship again next season.
We hope the supporters will continue to stick with us and help us keep pushing forward and build momentum.
The festive season is a difficult one as a footballer but I’m used to it now. With the days this year it doesn’t hit our schedule much and we will continue to train and play as usual.
From all the players, management and staff at Dumbarton, a Merry Christmas to all our supporters and sponsors and thank you for your support. See you there on Saturday to face Dundee United.
