CAMPBELL BECOMES A SON

Wednesday 23rd July 2014

STRIKER Archie Campbell, who played well in two recent games as a trialist, has earned himself a one-year deal at the Bet Butler Stadium.

Archie started his career at Rangers, but left after seven years at Ibrox.

Released by the Ibrox club at the end of the 2010–11 season, he joined Greenock Morton after a successful trial.

After 17 substitute appearances, Archie made his first start for Morton on Boxing Day 2011 away at Dens Park against Dundee, setting up the only goal of the game.

In his second start, he scored his first league goal and got another assist, as Morton defeated Ayr United 3–1 at Cappielow.

On September 1 2012, he scored his first professional hat-trick against Sons to win the game 3–0.

After scoring seven goals in five matches, Archie was awarded the SFL Young Player of the Month and the Irn-Bru Ginger Boots as top goalscorer in the SFL.

Welcome to the #sonsfamily Archie.
