DUMBARTON FC are delighted to announce that midfielder Callum Wilson has signed a professional contract with the club – and the supporters have played a big part.
The teenager, who was named cinch League One player of the month for September earlier today, has committed his future to DFC until the close season of 2023 after an excellent start to his career at the club.
It was made possible to complete the deal for Callum after the finance was made available through our manager’s fund, which allows fans to make regular contributions to the playing budget.
Company secretary and finance director Stephen Lynch paid tribute to all supporters whose input to the fund has helped to secure the future of a hugely talented player with his whole future ahead of him.
Stephen said: “This is exactly the sort of purpose that the manager’s fund was started up for at Dumbarton FC, and it is all the more pleasing that we have been able to use it to secure Callum on professional terms.
“He came to us for an opportunity to impress after leaving Hibernian, and his player of the month award says it all about how he has taken that opportunity. He is an outstanding talent and you would not think he has only just turned 18, such is the maturity and ability he has shown.

“Our supporters have been brilliant with how they have supported the team this season, on the sidelines on a matchday and financially by contributing to the fund. We are delighted to reward their hard work in this way.
“Callum’s award and new deal are huge boosts for us ahead of the next quarter of the season, during which we hope we can build on the positive start of the first quarter. Let’s look towards that quarter positively off the back of this excellent news.”
