DEFENDER Callum Thomson was impressed with his new surroundings at the Bet Butler Stadium when he joined up for his first trip as a Sons player yesterday.
The youngster will be on-loan till the end of the season from Premiership club St Mirren didn’t make the team that routed Alloa Athletic 5-1, but knows it will be an education process at the Sons.
He said : “I’m happy to be at Dumbarton”, said the 18-year old. “I’ll learn a lot and from what I’ve seen so far it’s a great set-up.
“To watch us win with some style against Alloa was brilliant and the overall standard is very good and competitive.
“Hopefully I’ll get my chance sooner rather than later and I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead.”
And there’s never going to be any excuses for the Houston based defender to be late on matchdays.
Chief Executive Gilbert Lawrie added: “Callum stays just around the corner from me, so I’ll make sure one way or the other he gets to the game on time!”
Callum will wear the No 18 shirt for the remainder of the season.
