SONS boss Stevie Aitken is not short on commitment and yesterday he was in demand as he supervised a closed door friendly against Patrick Thistle in Glasgow before taking in an under-20s game at Murray Park.
Thistle game with his staff and the players, Stevie took himself off to Murray Park to watch a mixture of the club’s 20s and 17s take on what turned out to be an impressive Rangers 20s team.
The 4-0 scoreline to the home club reflected the game but again the manager refused to be downbeat.
He said: “Richie (Salveta) and David (Lyden) had limited options with the team they put out against Rangers.
“It was the first game they had played together since the break and they had 6 or 7 players unavailable due to holidays, so that was a restriction right away.
“But from what I seen, there is a lot more to be encouraged about than to be disheartened.
“Overall it was a good day for everyone and I’m happy with how things are going.”
Sons next game is against Clydebank on Saturday 18th July at the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium.
