GOALKEEPER Brett Long is the next player to check into Dumbarton for the new season, signing a two-year deal at the Dumbarton Football Stadium this morning.
The 25-year-old, who was born in Northern Ireland, started out in Scottish football as a youth with Motherwell and then Dundee United.
He made his senior debut on loan with Clyde in 2017, and after playing with Cliftonville in Northern Ireland, returned to Scotland with Elgin City on loan.
East Fife was his next stop, and he stayed there for three seasons before joining Peterhead in the 2021 close season and making the starting gloves his own.
He is now a Sons player until the 2024 close season, to the delight of manager Stevie Farrell.
The gaffer said: “Brett has performed consistently well in cinch League One for a number of years, so we are delighted to get him on board.
“With all three goalkeepers having left the club at the end of last season, it was important to recruit in that position, and we are very pleased to have done so by bringing Brett to the club.”
Welcome to DFC Brett!
