DUMBARTON boss Stevie Aitken will learn the lessons from yeaterday’s defeat at home to Queen of the South, but he and his squad are already focusing on the next game against Falkirk.
The gaffer declared after the 2-0 loss at the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium: “I want to take the positives. Six out of nine points is a great start, there’s no doubt about that.
“Today we were up against a very good side, there’s no doubt about that. We’ve played Hibs and St Mirren, and they’re as good as they are.
“So I think we need to be honest enough to say that Queen of the South were better than us today.
“It’s been a difficult week after the joy of beating St Mirren last week, but I’m not disheartened.
“There’s a bigger picture here. And that picture is that with three games we could be sitting on zero points – because it’s three big clubs we’ve been playing against.
“So we’ll take six out of nine as a terrific start, and we’ll just have to focus on our next game now.
“We’ve got a free week, so we’ll prepare to go to Falkirk next Friday; another big game.
“The players have been terrific since they came in pre-season. They’ve taken some scalps already, and I’m sure they’ll take more scalps,” declared a positive, determined Aitken.
