SONS Championship status could be sealed tonight, without Ian Murray’s team kicking a ball.
Falkirk play Cowdenbeath at the Falkirk Stadium tonight and should the Bairns triumph, Dumbarton cannot be caught in the remaining matches of the SPFL regular season.
Alloa Ath and Cowdenbeath are currently locked in a battle to avoid finishing in the relegation play-off slot, and both face each other in the last game of the campaign, meaning that if the Fife side lose to the Bairns, Sons are safe.
On the flip side, if Jimmy Nicholl’s team take 3 points tonight, Dumbarton will need to beat them in this weekend’s game at Central Park to ensure safety.
Exciting time!
