DUMBARTON Football Club and their major sponsors, top rail engineering company C&G Systems, will be launching a new partnership with Dumbarton United FC this coming Saturday, ahead of the SPFL League One side’s home game against East Fife.
The fresh arrangement will create a potential pathway for youngsters into professional football and will build on both the desire of Dumbarton FC to nurture local talent and the many years’ worth of experience with dedicated amateur club Dumbarton United.
This youth football pathway is being created with key support from C&G Systems.
The company’s managing director, Dave Gordon, said: “This is an exciting new venture for the whole Dumbarton community, and we’re delighted to be helping it to happen.”
Further details will be announced this coming weekend, and there will be a large school presence at the C&G Systems Stadium for Dumbarton’s home fixture against the Fifers.
Colin Hosie, Dumbarton FC’s vice chairman, said: “This is an important development for our club, for youngsters in the area and for our developing partnership with Dumbarton United – who already do a fantastic job. We are really grateful to C&G Systems for their willingness to invest in the community and in local football.”
