BARRY SMITH LEAVES DUMBARTON

Saturday 29th May 2021

BARRY SMITH, who was assistant to Jim Duffy during his tenure as manager, has now left Dumbarton FC.

He arrived at the club in January 2020 to replace Craig McPherson, who left to join the academy coaching staff at Rangers.

With extensive experience as a manager in his own right, Barry provided reliable assistance to Jim, who signed him as a player twice at Dundee and Brechin City.

The role was a great personal commitment for Barry, who travelled a significant distance several times a week to take part in training and matches.

He has now left the club and will be replaced as assistant by Frank McKeown, Stevie Farrell’s trusted right-hand man.

All at Dumbarton FC thank Barry for his service to the club and wish him all the very best for the future.
