As exclusively revealed on the ‘Rock and Goal’ podcast, Dumbarton Football Club are delighted to announce that Aron Lynas has signed a new one-year contract with the club with the option of a further extension.
The defender has become a firm fan favourite since arriving at The Rock in the Summer with his committed and dedicated performances.
The 27-year-old has missed just one league game this season, against former side Albion Rovers on Hogmanay, and has chipped in with goals against Elgin City and Stenhousemuir.
Manager Stevie Farrell said: “Aron has been solid for us this season and a key reason as to why we have kept so many clean sheets and broken records.
“He leaves everything on the pitch every time he goes out there and makes an impact at both ends of the park with his willingness to get stuck in and his delivery from open play and long throws.
“We are delighted with the progress we have made with the contracts and we are looking in a strong position for next season.”
There are now nine players contracted at DFC for next season with Brett Long, Gregg Wylde, David Wilson, Finlay Gray, Ross MacLean, Declan Byrne, Ryan Blair and Ryan Wallace all joined by Aron.
Aron was a guest on this months episode of the Rock and Goal podcast which drops later this week – make sure you listen to hear about his time at The Rock so far, a look back at his career and his thoughts on remaining a Dumbarton player.
Commercial opportunities are also available for next season with home and away shirt sponsorship up for grabs. Contact office@dumbartonfc.co.uk.
