Defender Aron Lynas has left Dumbarton with our best wishes for the future.
A fans’ favourite and member of the promotion winning side of 2023/24, Aron is set for a new challenge after 120 appearances and four goals across his four seasons as a Son.
Having joined from Albion Rovers in the summer of 2022, Azza played a key role in securing a club record number of clean sheets in his first season at the club – starting 45 games and being named as Sonstrust Player of the Year.
The following season he turned in an outstanding showing at centre-half in the playoff final second leg victory against Spartans and stuck with the club last year in League 1 and following administration.
Boss Frank McKeown said: “Aron has been a terrific servant to the club across his four years and is the sort of character who wants to be playing games every week and we would never stand in his way as he pursues first team football.
“I’m sure I’m joined by everyone at the club in wishing Aron and his family all the very best for the future. It’s been a pleasure working with him.”
