ANOTHER TOUGH TEST FOR DUMBARTON

Friday 11th November 2016

SONS play the first of two back-to-back matches at the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium this weekend, with a ‘Clydeside Clash’ against rivals Greenock Morton.

Manager Stevie Aitken was delighted at securing Sons second victory of the season against St Mirren last weekend, and the win meant going above Dunfermline Athletic and moving away from the Championship relegation play-off place.

He said: “We will get a massive lift from last weeks’ win, but yet again we face another tough game against Morton who are playing really well at the moment.

“Every match in the Championship brings its own challenges and we’ll be up for the game.”

Dumbarton’s last win against Morton came in the Challenge Cup last season and the ‘Ton are unbeaten in their last six league outings against the Sons. There have been three draws in the last five meetings between the sides. Two of these were goalless.

In teams news, Grant Gallagher remains sidelined for the Morton game and there are doubts over Garry Fleming who faces a pre-match fitness test. David Smith took a knock in training this week but is expected to be part of the squad.

Kilpatrick FC 2008s will be taking advantage of our community ticket scheme tomorrow and we are looking forward to having their coaches and players at the game.

Don Robertson is the man in charge of this weekend’s game. Mr Robertson will be assisted by Ivan Stankovic and Kevin McElhinney.
