DUMBARTON hope to restore some spirit in their last game before Christmas, when Peterhead visit the Moreroom.com Stadium.
Having been heftily beaten when the sides last met in the northeast in October, Sons have a score to settle with the Blue Toon.
They are also seeking to make up for last week’s disappointing defeat to Montrose, inflicted after taking the lead.
In theory, a win could move Sons into sixth place, and it is an opportunity that gaffer Stevie Farrell is keen to see his men take.
He said: “We know what led us to lose last week’s game so disappointingly and we have worked hard in training this week as we always do.
“Only by being on top of our game for 90 minutes, and keeping mistakes out of our game, will we give ourselves a chance of a result.
“We are all continuing to put our best efforts into sorting out the situation we find ourselves in, but it is incredible what a difference a win tomorrow could make.
“It’s a result we’ll be going all out to get, and to send our fans home for Christmas happy.”
Ryan McGeever and Kristoffer Syvertsen remain out, and having been a late addition to the injury list last week, Stuart Carswell is doubtful.
The match is sponsored by HL Metals, whose support is very much appreciated by the club, and we hope everybody in attendance from the company enjoys their day.
Don’t forget that the game will be preceded by the Christmas market in Bar 72.
The market will open at 11am, and as a result, the turnstiles will open then too. Entry to the market is by donation with admission to the match, and all donations will go to Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS).
With Covid case numbers rising in Scotland, please be mindful of the current regulations in place. Wear a face covering when indoors, except when seated in Bar 72, and we recommend that supporters take a lateral flow test before visiting the stadium.
If you are unable to make it to the game, then streaming is available as per our previous story, and we will have in-play Twitter commentary available through our feed @DumbartonFC.
There has been a change of referee for tomorrow’s game. George Calder is now the man in charge, replacing Scott Lambie, and will be assisted by Kevin McElhinney and Steven Wilson.
