VETERAN defender Mark McLaughlin has agreed a new 1-year contract and will again be at the heart of the Sons defence for the new season.
He was named as Morton’s captain in August 2012, but was released from his contract on Christmas Eve 2013 and was snapped up by manager Ian Murray to fill the gap left by on loan defender Aaron Barry on his return to Sheffield United.
Mark played a key role in the latter half of the 2013/14 season, helping Sons to a creditable 5th place in the SPFL Championship.
Manager Ian Murray commented: “Mark made a vital contribution to the season just finished and his experience will play a part next season.”
