GOALS either side of the break gave Dumbarton a 2-0 victory over Forfar Athletic at the C&G Systems Stadium this evening.
The result secures Sons another valuable three points, as well as three wins and three clean sheets in a row, turning around what had been a difficult start to 2020 on the park.
Birthday boy Ross Forbes opened the scoring for Dumbarton on 33 minutes, lashing the ball home against his former club from close range.
On 69 minutes PJ Crossan fed Jai Quitongo in, and he made no mistake, rattling into te net to double the home side’s lead.
Seven minutes later ‘keeper Conor Brennan was called into action at the other end, acrobatically tipping away a curling Forfar effort and maintaining Dumbarton’s advantage.
Sons now sit in sixth place on 38 points in SPFL League One, ahead of this coming Saturday’s visit to take on Clyde in Cumbernauld.
