WHILE Dumbarton are training on Tuesday night, they could almost be forgiven for having one eye on events at Cappielow.
Morton’s home game with St Mirren that evening is the next fixture that could alter the course of the race for Championship survival.
If the Buddies win against their local rivals, they will overtake Raith Rovers into eighth place and be a point behind Sons.
For Dumbarton, their next assignment is next Saturday at home to Dunfermline Athletic who, to all intents and purposes, are safe from the threat of relegation.
And Sons will be the only team in the bottom four who are not up against top four opposition on Saturday.
Bottom team Ayr United are at home to Dundee United, St Mirren visit Falkirk and Raith Rovers play host to Morton.
It is set to be another key week in the race to be part of the 2017/18 Championship.
