SONS 16/17 squad building continued today with the addition of Stranraer midfielder Andy Stirling.
The 26-year old joins Dumbarton on a 1-year contract. Andy was full time at St Mirren when he was 16 but was let go as a youth player.
Paisley born Andy has had two spells at Stair Park and was named in the SPFL League One team of the year in season 13/14.
His previous clubs include Stirling Albion, Dunfermline Athletic, East Stirling and Stenhousemuir.
In 40 appearances for Stranraer last season, including the Ladbrokes Championship play-offs, Andy scored 6 goals.
Manager Stevie Aitken, currently on holiday and who signed Stirling for Stranraer last summer prior to himself joining Dumbarton is ‘delighted’ with the news that the deal is now complete.
