Friday 6th December 2019
DUMBARTON return to the C&G Systems Stadium tomorrow for the penultimate time in 2019 and the last time before Christmas, with Montrose the opposition.
The fixture will complete the first half of Sons’ home fixture card in League One, with every opponent then having visited the C&G Systems Stadium once.
It’s a big day off the pitch as well, as the club shop hopes to do big business on the last home matchday this side of December 25.
But on it, manager Jim Duffy hopes for more of the same battling qualities that have seen back to back wins posted against Forfar Athletic and Clyde.
He said: “We didn’t make a great start at Broadwood last week but once we found our stride we were on top of things and deserved to win.
“Tomorrow, I will be looking for another result. With all of the top four playing each other, this is a big chance to close the gap on them – but only if we do what we need to.
“It is an opportunity for Montrose as well. They are only a point behind us and having finished top four last season, they will have aspirations of doing so again.
“Last time out at Links Park, we made a fantastic start, but they kept battling and it was a tough process for us to hang on for the three points.
“We expect that they will give us another stern test tomorrow, but we are in a good place at the moment and long may that continue.”
Once again, the squad has a clean bill of health for this game, with no issues reported.
Referee David Munro is in charge of the game, with Joseph Lawson and Blair Fraser acting as assistants.
All supporters should enter the stadium via the east turnstiles – the ones closest to Castle Road – and Montrose fans will be taken through to the away end before the match.
Access to Bar 72 will be available for all – and in there you will find the club shop.
It will have numerous options for presents for the Sons fan in your life, including the club’s new tartan scarf, which was previewed earlier this week.
Half season tickets, gift vouchers and lots of other merchandise will also be available. While our normal opening hours apply through the week, this is your last chance to buy Sons-themed gifts on a matchday, so don’t miss out if you still have shopping to do!
Copies of the club’s award-winning matchday programme, Sons View, are also available priced £2.50.
