IT is with very deep sadness that we announce that Sons fan Alistair McVicar, has died.
Alistair was 97 years old and a Dumbarton supporter for many, many years and he owned the licenced grocer’s shop on Bridge Street (now the Glencairn) in Dumbarton.
George, Alistair’s son, and a Sons fan too said; “Our family connection with the cub goes back to my grandfather who founded George McVicar and Son, and along with many of the local businesses took part in a share issue to help stabilise the club at that time.”
All at Dumbarton Football Club send their deepest sympathies and condolences to Alistair’s family and to his many friends at this extremely difficult time.
The funeral is confirmed for Friday 21st December 2018 at 1:15pm in Cardross Crematorium.
