AIRDRIE WIN SEVEN-GOAL THRILLER
Airdrieonians came from behind to win 4-3 at the Marbill Coaches Stadium this afternoon.
Finlay Gray put Dumbarton ahead with a brilliant strike from the edge of the area on 27 minutes, though it was relatively short lived as Lewis McGrattan’s glancing header brought the visitors level six minutes later.
James Hilton’s quick-fire double put Sons in a seemingly comfortable position by the 51st minute when he found the net from close range before he slotted home a penalty.
Rhys Armstrong pulled one back for the Diamonds with goals from Terrell Agyeman and Ben Wilson completing the turnaround in the final 5 minutes.
The result means that Dumbarton cannot qualify from Group A of the Premier Sports Cup with one game to go at they travel to Pittodrie next weekend to take on Aberdeen.
