Midfielder Ryan Blair has left Dumbarton to join Brechin City.
The 30-year-old was one of our first signings in the summer of 2022 and was an ever-present in the side that finished second in the League 2 table.
He renewed his deal for the following campaign where he was a member of the promotion winning side of 2023/24, which also saw him net a memorable brace of free-kicks in a 6-2 victory against Spartans.
30 appearances in League 1 the following season and a further 33 last season followed, taking Blairzo to 145 games as a Sons player. However he’ll now depart for a fresh challenge at Glebe Park after four years at The Rock.

“He’s at the stage of his career where he wants to be playing football every week, and an opportunity at Brechin has arisen that offers him more regular gametime than we could at Dumbarton.
