We’re delighted to announce the return of goalkeeper Aidan Rice from Celtic.
The 20-year-old made a huge impression during a loan spell from the Glasgow club last season, earning a new two-year deal with the Premiership Champions.
After playing a vital role in securing William Hill League 2 safety last season, Aidan is now back at The Rock – sponsored by Marbill Coaches. And goes straight into our squad for our trip to face Dunfermline Athletic.
Boss Frank McKeown said: “It’s no secret that we wanted to bring Aidan back to the club this summer and we’ve been patient because it was important we got the right player. We’re absolutely delighted to have Aidan back at the club.
“He was a huge player for us last season in what was his first spell of regular SPFL football, and his performances showed exactly why he is so highly rated by Celtic.
“Aidan has a calmness and composure that brings confidence to the whole team and as we saw throughout last season, he’s capable of producing some truly outstanding saves when it matters most.
“Bringing him back is a real coup for the club. I’d like to thank everyone at both Celtic and Dumbarton who helped make it happen. It’s something we’ve been working hard on throughout the summer, so it’s fantastic to finally get the deal over the line.
