Women’s Team Ready to Make Their Mark at The Rock

Dumbarton Women manager Kenny McInnes believes playing home fixtures at The Rock – Sponsored by Marbill Coaches will be a major step forward for the team and the wider women’s pathway.

The coming season will see the women’s side move into the stadium for their matches, giving players the chance to represent the club from the same home as the men’s first team.

Kenny says the move reflects the club’s commitment to growing the women’s game.

“It’s going to make a massive difference,” he said.

“You can already see the awareness around the club and people can see that it’s not just lip service. The club really is getting behind the women’s team and the girls’ pathway as well.”

The new facilities and improved matchday experience are something the players and coaches are looking forward to.

“Coming here and playing in the stadium is something all our players are very excited about. As coaches, we’re looking forward to it as well and can’t wait for the season to get started.”

Looking ahead, Kenny wants his young side to continue progressing but feels they have already shown they can compete.

“I’d like to see us get off to a good start and who knows what the season might hold.

“We showed towards the end of last season that we can compete against any team in the league. We’re ready to kick on.”

The next chapter for Dumbarton Women begins at The Rock.
