Second-half goals from Gordon Walker, Leighton McIntosh and Scott Honeyman saw Sons defeat high-flying Spartans at The Marbill Coaches Stadium this afternoon.

Celtic loanee Aidan Rice was handed his debut in goals, with the first-half seeing chances at both ends – with Sonstrust Player of the Match in association with No Limits Brewing Ali Omar and Josh Todd both going close for Sons, while Cammy Russell and Mark Stowe threatened for the visitors.

However from the moment Gordon Walker’s diving header opened the scoring, Sons looked like they would go on to secure a first win of 2026 – with Leighton McIntosh’s superb flick, and a late Scott Honeyman strike sealing the win.
