50 NOT OUT FOR STEVIE

Wednesday 17th August 2016

DUMBARTON manager Stevie Aitken will register a half-century of matches in charge of the club at the home of rivals Morton this coming Saturday and hope that, by the final whistle, he has claimed the three points that marked his first game in charge last summer.

The 39-year-old, who started managing at the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium in July 2015, will lead a team for the 50th time in Saturday’s Ladbrokes Championship game against Morton at Cappielow.

His Sons career started at the very same ground with a 3-2 win in the Challenge Cup, thanks to goals from Garry Fleming and a double from Grant Gallagher.

Said Stevie : “I didn’t realise that Saturday coming was a milestone event.

“50 and not out.

“It’d be good to repeat the result that we had last year on Saturday, but it will be a very tough game.”
