NEW TRUST REP LOOKING FORWARD TO NEW ROLE

Cameron Watson has revealed he is looking forward to following in his families footsteps after being elected as the Sons Supporters Trust Representative on the DFC board.

The lifelong Son of the Rock was voted onto the clubs board last month and will represent the views of members of the Sonstrust on the DFC board.

Watson has been involved with the club from an early age and is now looking forward to taking on his new role.

He told the clubs website: “As most, if not all, of you will be aware my family have been involved with the club for the last 50+ years.

“My Grampa, John Hosie, was club secretary and my uncle, Colin Hosie, is the current Vice Chairman and I am proud to be joining the board as the trust director to continue that legacy.

“I have been a fan all my life, a mascot at Boghead, a ball boy and a season ticket holder – visiting most of the senior grounds in Scottish football and experiencing the highs of a cup final to the lows of relegation.

“With the highs and lows come many challenges on and off the park which I look forward to tackling together.

“For a club like ours to be sustainable and challenge higher up the leagues we need to be at the heart of the community and we need to all work together to achieve this.

“I’ll be in Bar72 before home matches and would love to talk to as many of you as possible on what we are doing and planning to get your thoughts. Everyone’s opinion is valuable.”

Supporters can also meet with Cameron at the Sonstrust AGM later this month and he has three very simple requests of fans.

He explained: “If I could ask a few things from you as a support it would be to back the team and never go personal, talk to us – if it’s good, bad or indifferent – and I’ll work to improve our communication outwards and also to promote our club, know a company that would work with us, bring a friend along to a game or even just shout from the top of the castle.

“I’ll be at the Trust AGM on the 22nd of April in Bar72, come along and let’s talk some more.”
