DUMBARTON’S development team secured a vital three points against Queens Park, leaving Lesser Hampden with a 1-0 victory last night, thanks to a late goal from Mikey Hopkins.
Both sides came out with a positive attitude last night, seeking to take the game to their opponents.
Sons and the Spiders struggled to turn possession into convincing chances, or to capitalise on opportunities in front of goal when they arose.
Then on 90 minutes, just as the match started to look like a certain nil-nil stalemate, Mikey Hopkins broke the deadlock. His corner ended up in the back of the Queens Park net, directly, and signalled celebrations of a surprise but welcome win.
