SONS under 19s secured a comfortable 3-0 win against their Queen of the South counterparts in Dumfries this afternoon.
Coach Richard Salvetta said: “It was a good performance from start to finish and a deserved victory.”
Donald McCallum gave Dumbarton an early lead after just seven minutes and the away team absorbed pressure from their hosts to go into the break with a slender advantage.
Queens went on the attack early in the second half but the game changed on the hour mark when Mikey Hopkins doubled Sons goal tally to make it 2-0.
And with just three minutes remaining, midfielder Matt McArthur (pictured) wrapped things up for Dumbarton with a third goal.
