19S LOSE TO CLYDE AT BROADWOOD

Sunday 16th February 2014

SONS under-19s suffered a second successive defeat in game four of the SPFL league cup at Clyde this afternoon.

Andrew Clark’s strike in the first half started the game in positive fashion for Colin Nish’s youngsters and despite Sons superiority there were no more goals before half-time.

Clyde drew level before Dumbarton fell behind and could not recover to lose the game 2-1.

Coach Richard Salvetta commented:”We were made to pay for not capitalising on our lead and then we lost an avoidable equaliser.

“Another mistake later in the game meant we lost our second game in a row with myself and Colin disappointed at the outcome.”

Team : Lumsden, Martin, Alexander, Edfar, Lightbody, McArthur, McIntyre, Frizzell, Clark. McCallum, Beaton. Subs – Fulton, Cook, Biddulph, Hopkins, Howe.

Airdrie are the 19s next opponents on Sunday 23rd Feb at the 3g surface at the Vale of Leven Academy.
