DUMBARTON Under 19s played their last match of the season — and for the forseeable future — yesterday evening.
Sons travelled to the David Keswick Centre in Dumfries and lost 3-1 to Queen of the South in the Irn-Bru Scottish League Under 19 Youth Division.
The home side were in command in the first half and were 3-0 up at the interval, but the Sons came back in the second half with a consolation goal from Tom Buckley in 70 minutes. He netted after a corner from Reece Pearson (pictured).
First team squad members for 2012-13 Ryan Metcalfe, Gary McKell, Glenn Thomson joined colleague Reece Pearson in the team.
The result means a 12th place finish in the 25 team league. In the new season there will be no 19s side, as Dumbarton will be playing in the Reserve League.
